It turns out, Reba McEntire “probably” had a different virus when she tested positive for COVID-19.

The iconic country artist previously announced that she and her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, had tested positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated. On Monday (August 23), however, McEntire explained on Talk Shop Live with TV host and entertainment journalist Nancy O’Dell that she may have had a false positive result.

Reporting on McEntire’s new interview about her recent illness, PEOPLE reports that it’s rare that a vaccinated person would contract COVID-19, but not impossible. Vaccinated individuals with COVID-19 will likely exhibit no symptoms or mild symptoms.

"I had my antibodies from my vaccine," McEntire said. "So I had all the symptoms." McEntire went on to say that she was tested and the results "said that I had it, but then the nurse that came and tested me for my antibodies said that I probably had the RSV virus."

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines RSV, Respiratory Syncytial Virus, as “a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms.” Generally, people with the infection recover within one to two weeks, but it can be more dire to infants and older adults, according to the CDC.

McEntire added to O’Dell that she’s in good health and “praying’ for everybody who’s contracted it...whatever I had, it sure wasn’t fun.”

The “Fancy” singer has previously urged others to stay safe amid the virus spread, including in December of 2020 when she reflected on “a booger-bear of a year…Your support, your love, your prayers, your comments, everything. I love you. Take care of yourself, pretty please."
