Chicagoans have become so victimized by a serial egg thrower that they launched a Facebook group to help hunt down the culprit.

As of publication on Wednesday afternoon (September 1), more than 1,200 Facebook users have joined the public group, dubbed the “Chicago Egg Hunters.” It serves as a “place to share all information regarding the Egg Throwing White Box Truck with Red Graffiti,” its description reads. Its members have taken to the discussion page to detail their encounters with the egg thrower throughout the community.

Moshe Tassmot, the creator of the Facebook group, told NBC Chicago this week that the egg incidents date back approximately two years, according to the data pooled together from members of the “Chicago Egg Hunters.” Tassmot added that group members managed to pinpoint the owner of the truck via its license plate. The owner was “going to have to sit down at the end of the shift with all the truck drivers to debrief and figure out who was responsible," Tassmot explained.

“We are aware of several incidents in which victims have reported to police that an unknown offender(s) in a vehicle threw an egg at them,” Chicago Police Department spokesperson Tom Ahern confirmed to Block Club Chicago. “No serious injuries were reported.” Anyone who gets hit by the mystery egg thrower should report the incidents at cpdtip.com.
