Tim McGraw applauded an up-and-coming country artist for a job well done after the pair teamed up for a virtual duet of the country giant’s “Something Like That.”

Instead of marking Labor Day weekend with a Coke and some gasoline (before driving out to the county fair, of course), McGraw delivered a rendition of his 1999 song with Brandon Davis.

Davis, 27, “started singing at an early age,” and wrote his own songs in high school. But it wasn’t until 2019 that he got the push to chase his dreams, and instill that value in his young children. On his website, Davis recalls being “hit head on by a distracted driver and could have very well lost my life.” At that time, the Chattanooga man was already a father of three with his fourth child on the way. Davis credits his wife as a very determined individual that does not wait for opportunities, she just makes things happen.” She was the one who prompted Davis to turn to TikTok to help jumpstart his music career.

It seemed to be a good call — social media allowed Davis the opportunity to sing “Something Like That” with McGraw. McGraw said he did “one hell of a job” on the song. Watch the duet here:
