Both the COVID-19 pandemic eviction moratorium and the extra unemployment insurance benefits have expired, leaving millions of Americans without help in an ongoing pandemic.
For Californians, a bit of financial help is on the way again. The state of California anticipates that another round of Golden State Stimulus II checks will go out to eligible residents as early as this Friday, September 10.
According to KTLA, the first batch of the stimulus program's expansion was disbursed on August 27 with an estimated total of $345 million deposited into the bank accounts of eligible individuals.
For this round of stimulus checks, a total of $12 billion in direct payments will go out to two of every three Californians, according to the state.
California Franchise Tax Board spokesperson Daniel Tahara says the state anticipates issuing stimulus checks around every 14 days.
The first round of payments will go out through direct deposit to people who have their bank account information on file with the state tax agency.
However, for people who receive their state tax refund in the mail, the stimulus checks are estimated to start going out on October 5, according to Tahara.
