Bruce Springsteen performed his song I Will See You In My Dreams during the ceremony honoring the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The musician took the stage to share the somber lyrics during the reading of the names at the 9/11 memorial in NYC following a moment of silence at 9:03 a.m. –– the moment the second plane in the attack struck the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

“The road is long and seeming without end/The days go on, I remember you my friend,” Springsteen sang while playing the guitar and harmonica. “And though you’re gone/And my heart’s been emptied it seems/I’ll see you in my dreams.” The song is off of the singer’s 2020 album Letter To You.

Crowds gathered at the memorial in NYC to mark the 20 year anniversary of the terrorist attacks. President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, and former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, and their wives, Michelle Obama, and Hillary Clinton, are among the crowd paying their respects to the victims of the attack.
