Lana Del Rey announced that she’s officially making an exit from social media.

The 36-year-old took to Instagram to explain why she’s making the decision and what fans can expect moving forward.

“Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow we are going to be deactivating our social media accounts, my social media accounts,” the “Don’t Call me Angel” singer says in the video.

“That is simply because I have so many interests, and other jobs I’m doing that require privacy and transparency.”

“I wanna say a heartfelt, just thank you for, you know, continuing to kind of see me through the music,” the entertainer continues. “It’s always important to be witnessed and it’s also really important just to be witnessed by the people close to you that you know and who you trust,” she goes on to say.

“For right now, I think I’m going to just keep my circle a little bit closer and continue to develop some other skills and interests.”

Check out the video below for the full details from the singer, until the accounts are officially deactivated by the social media platforms, a process which could take up to 90 days.

The singer’s eighth studio album, Blue Banisters, is scheduled to be released October 22, 2021. The singer's last studio album, Lust for Life, was released in 2017.
