Nurses at an Arkansas hospital thanked Lizzo after the singer provided lunch for them over the weekend. The meals, the singer explained, are to serve as a thank you to those caring for COVID-19 patients all over the US.
Arkansas, like many states across the nation, is currently facing a surge in COVID-19 cases, fueled by the highly transmissible Delta variant overwhelming many healthcare professionals and systems .
To help bring a little light to the long hours healthcare workers put in, Lizzo has been providing lunch for those at the frontlines since early 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic.
“We’ve been feeding frontline workers since last year –– we try to make their impossible job a little easier,” Lizzo wrote in a tweet. “It’s the least I can do. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.”
