Fall is almost here and that means it's nearly time for Halloween. What better place to celebrate than at one of the biggest and spookiest celebrations around Charlotte?
Carowinds is bringing back its annual SCarowinds event, dubbed "the Carolinas' largest Halloween event." Opening at sundown on Friday, September 17 and running select nights through Halloween, SCarowinds promises a full list of spooky activities such as haunted houses and mazes, eight "scare zones" and more, per WCNC.
"Whether you've visited each year of fear, or if this is your first time, you'll sleep with the lights on after experiencing this new generation of SCarowinds," the park's website teases of the event. "Every corner is cursed afresh with haunted mazes, scare zones and live (or maybe not live) entertainment."
While there is no age requirement for SCarowinds, the park recommends guests be 13 years or older due to the nature of the event.
A new rule for 2021 is that guests are not permitted to bring bags of any kind into the park, including purses, backpacks or diaper bags. Any guest with a health accommodation requiring a bag will be limited to a 4.5" by 6.5" bag with only medically necessary items. All bags will be searched prior to entry.
Additionally, costume masks and attire as well as face paint are not permitted. Masks to reduce the spread of germs, however, will be required indoors for all guests ages 5 and older unless actively eating or drinking.
Ticket start at $39.99. For more information or to buy tickets, visit SCarowinds' website here.
