So many fights broke out at a Georgia county fair over the weekend that deputies had to shut the whole thing down.
Coweta County Sheriff’s Office deputies confirmed to Fox 5 Atlanta that several people were arrested on Saturday (September 25), and one person who will be arrested is eight months pregnant. Newnan/Coweta Scanner Traffic, which shared submitted video footage of the evacuations of the fair, reported that some who were arrested and booked into the Coweta County Jail range in age from 17 to 19. Collectively, those four individuals face charges of disorderly conduct, criminal interference with government property, obstruction of officers, battery simple and affray. The fighting involved more than 50 people, happening around 10 p.m. that night. Officers from multiple agencies responded to the scene and closed down the fair, according to Newnan/Coweta Scanner Traffic.
Though multiple brawls broke out at once, law enforcement officials told Fox 5 Atlanta that they were not connected to one another: “Throughout the premises, these weren't related. You had a fight over here, two unrelated people fighting on the other side of the fairgrounds,” Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Toby Nix told the news outlet. Officials added that some juveniles were cited and released to their parents following the altercations.
