Looks like spooky season is in full swing in Oregon.
State police (OSP) says a fisherman was out on Wallowa Lake last week when something caught their eye. They claim they saw "something suspicious" about 45 feet down on the bottom of the lake. The fisherman told authorities it looked like skeletal remains.
Investigators and the Wallowa County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) investigated the discovery.
Turns out that it wasn't real! Officials say "the item was not consistent with an actual human skeleton."
OSP and WCSO went out to the lake the following day and salvaged the plastic skeleton with the help of a diver.
"Never a dull moment at the Oregon State Police," authorities joked along with the picture of the rescued Halloween decoration.

Some Facebook users had a field day with this one. Several people wished authorities a "Happy Halloween" while others dropped some great one-liners.
"You found him a bit too late," one person said. "So that’s what’s been scaring all the fish away," another person commented.
This isn't the first time people have mistaken fake skeletons for the real thing. Some people have even used plastic skeletons for some weird antics.
It can work the other way around, too, as one Tennessee family horrifically learned.
