The end of a cultural era is here.

On Wednesday, Issa Rae took to Instagram to share the trailer for the fifth and final season of her hit HBO series Insecure. The newly married actress posted the highly anticipated clip with her 3.3 million followers, writing:

#SeasonByeve, okay?! Can’t believe this is the last @insecurehbo trailer I’ll ever share! See you Sunday, October 24th!

Back in June, the series creator got emotional on social media after sharing that the cast and crew Insecure had officially wrapped their final day of filming. Issa tweeted:

"Today is my last day shooting #InsecureHBO. Said goodbye to some of my favorite people on Earth, on and off screen, this past week. Never imagined all the doors this would open. Forever grateful to those who paved the way for us to do us."

Insecure's executive producer and showrunner, Penny Prentice, also penned an emotional later to the fans, cast and crew that've help keep the show going for over five seasons. He wrote:

"To all my writers, directors, cast and crew that ever worked on the show, I truly appreciate every thing you poured into it. To my amazing wife and my three children I can't thank you enough for understanding and being patient through all of the sacrifices. I can only hope one day you look back proudly that your husband and father tried to do something positive for the culture. And to the culture, just know everything I did was because I love you. Thank you and good night."

The show's ending may have saddened many viewers, but Issa says her intention was to always end the series after five seasons. Back in May, she told Vanity Fair:

“I pretty much go with my gut, and this is what my gut’s been telling me forever."

Catch the fifth and final season of Insecure when it airs October 24th on HBO.
