Brewers Star Pitcher To Miss Postseason After Drunkenly Punching A Wall

The Milwaukee Brewers suffered a major setback in their World Series hopes after their star relief pitcher Devin Williams broke his hand and will likely miss the postseason.

Williams admitted that he got drunk and punched a wall with his pitching hand in frustration. He tried to play through the injury and showed up at the ballpark, ready to go. When Williams realized he couldn't throw a baseball, he alerted the team's medical staff. He underwent an x-ray which revealed he broke his hand.

President of baseball operations David Stearns said that Williams will have to undergo surgery.

"He came in, told our medical staff. We got him X-rayed during the game yesterday, got the results during the game yesterday, consulted with our doctors today, and we understand that surgery is going to be required," Stearns told reporters.

Williams apologized for his actions, telling reporters he feels terrible for letting the team down.

"I'm pretty upset with myself. There's no one to blame but me," Williams said. "I feel like I've let the team down, the coaching staff, the fans, everyone. I know how big a role that I play on this team, and there's a lot of people counting on me."

Williams, who won NL Rookie of the Year last season, was s 8-2 with a 2.50 ERA and 87 strikeouts through 54 innings working as the setup man for the Josh Hader.
