Tay Keith raised the bar for hip hop in 2018 with his certified diamond beat for Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode". Now he's raising the standards for producers and artists in different way, after officially becoming a college Professor.
On Thursday, the 25-year old took to social media to reveal the news that he is now an Honorary Professor at his alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University, where he graduated with degrees in integrated studies and media management in 2018. In the photo, Keith stands alongside MTSU's Dean, Beverly Keel, as he shows off his Honorary Professor Certificate.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the Grammy nominated rapper reflected:
"From the days I was struggling in class failing trying to get candidacy for the college of recording industry to coming back and becoming a honorary professor show you that hard work with passion pay off. S/O my alma mater acknowledging me and my team and letting me come educate and motivate the youngins who in the same shoes i was in just a few years ago. Respect always been some thats earned and it aint given and real ones always win in the end.”
Keith is also gearing up to start his own internship program with MTSU through his label, Drumatized Records , which offers students the chance to learn about the music industry and all it's ins and outs: including royalty splits, publishing, BMI submissions work and more.
The 2019 Hip Hop Awards producer of the year nominee is known for producing chart topping hits like Drake’s “Nonstop,” BlocBoy JB’s “Look Alive,” and Lil Baby’s “Never Recover." He also produced a limited-edition 7” vinyl track inspired the new Crispy Chicken Sandwich for McDonalds earlier this year. Back in 2019, Keith mentioned on social media that he would be a University Professor by the age of 50; and not only did his dream come true, but he did it in half the time he planned.
