Tom Brady Sounds Sick And Doesn't Know Why Ahead Of New England Return

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will appear in his first ever game against his former team, the New England Patriots, on Sunday (October 3) night, but appears to be under the weather, with "appears" being the key word.

Brady had a raspy voice duing his weekly press conference in Tampa on Thursday (September 30) and the quarterback addressed it, saying he was unaware of why, but confirmed he felt fine.

“I don’t know. I’ve had a few of these days. I don’t know what the deal is, so I gotta try to figure this out,” Brady said via CBS Boston. “I said my throat’s more tired than arm. Imagine that.”

A reporter then reminded the 44-year-old quarterback of a previous occurrance earlier in the summer when his voice sounded hoarse.

“Same thing — I know,” Brady said. “It came back. I know. Very strange. Something must be a little — I can’t explain that, so.”

Unless Brady actually is sick, he will likely break Drew Brees' NFL record of 80,358 passing yards during his return to Gillette Stadium, which served as his home for 20 NFL seasons before joining the Buccaneers in March 2020.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion trails the all-time passing record by just 67 yards entering Sunday's game.

Both teams will be looking to bounce back from disappointing performances in Week 3, with the Patriots coming off a 28-13 loss at home to the New Orleans Saints.
