On Saturday, October 2, a woman was rescued from the Antioch Marina.

Police were dispatched to the marina after receiving a 911 call from a woman who was lost in the wetlands near Dow Chemical, according to KRON.

When authorities arrived, a resident told officers he could hear the woman screaming for help nearby. To find her in the dark night, officers used a drone to search for her from the air.

The resident was able to help officers by giving them a general sense of where the woman could be stranded.

Dispatchers were able to reconnect with the woman and instruct her to use her cellphone as a flashlight.

Once the woman turned on her phone's flashlight, officers were able to see it from the sky and locate exactly where she was. The woman was rescued from a small patch of land that was surrounded by water.

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District personnel came in to assist Antioch police with a boat.

The woman was rescued and returned to the marina safely. Medical personnel was on the scene to assist.
