Boone Police Officer Dies in Off-Duty Car Crash

(Boone, IA) -- A police officer from Boone is dead after a car crash. Boone police say Mario Gonzalez was off duty when he got into a car crash Saturday. No details about the crash have been released. Gonzalez was a member of the Iowa National Guard and had been with the Boone Police Department since 2016.
