Quarry Owner Responds After Student's Death

(Columbia, SC) -- The owner and operator of a quarry is emphasizing their safety precautions after a University of South Carolina student was found dead there. 

Senior Michael Keen was found in the Vulcan Materials Company Columbia Quarry on Monday -- the second student death to happen at the quarry in just over a year. 

Vulcan Materials says they have fencing, warning signs, berms, and barbed wire to keep people outside the perimeter of the quarry. 

Company officials say they will continue to address safety issues as needed.
