A lawsuit that resulted from a deadly fire at a San Marcos apartment complex is now settled. The fire killed five people at the Iconic Village Apartments near Texas State University in the summer of 2018. A month later, a civil lawsuit filed in Travis County named the complex's corporate owners and several of its managers as defendants. The suit accused them of wrongful death and gross negligence for faulty fire alarms and the lack of a sprinkler system. The terms of the settlement weren't disclosed.
