A new Covid-19 variant has been discovered in France.

  • The 'IHU' variant of the virus has reportedly infected 12 people who live in France's port city of Marseille.
  • The variant is said to have 46 different types of mutations, more found than in the omicron variant.
  • The spread is reported to be connected to travel to the African country of Cameroon.
  • While experts say that new variants will keep appearing, not all are on the same level of danger.
