A driver whose car was left dangling over a canal on a San Diego highway was rescued by emergency crews early Monday morning (January 10), reports KGTV.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) said they received a report of a crash involving a white Honda Civic "about to fall" off Interstate 805 at the Home Avenue off-ramp just before 5:30 A.M. on Monday.
When authorities arrived, the car was dangling over a drainage canal and leaning against a chain-link face.
The incident that led to the crash is still unknown but KGTV reports that the driver was found unconscious inside the car by crews.

Witnesses said they were unable to help the driver because they were afraid the car would fall into the canal.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews tied the car to a fire truck, then mashed the car's window and pulled the unconscious driver out.
The driver was taken to the hospital and CHP officials got the car towed to a nearby gas station.
