Salem Board Of Health Votes To Lift Covid-19 Public Health Rules

SALEM (WBZNewsRadio) - The 'Witch' City is ending its Covid-19 related public health rules after the Board of Health voted unanimously to rescind an indoor mask mandate and proof of vaccination requirement. These changes go into effect immediately.

The orders had been put into place in December, when the omicron variant was surging through out the Commonwealth.
The Board of Health said their decision was based on decreasing rates of cases and hospitalizations. Businesses within the city limits are allowed to establish their own safety requirements for customers and employees.
