World’s Best Boxer To Open Authentic Taqueria In San Diego

The best boxer in the world, Canelo Álvarez is bringing his taqueria to San Diego. According to NBC7, Canelo and his brother/restaurant partner Ricardo Álvarez told Telemundo 20 that they're bringing El Pastor Del Rica to Chula Vista.
The restaurant will open at 645 Broadway in Chula Vista in either April or May, according to the brothers. The building, which used to be an auto parts store, is being remodeled into an authentic Mexican taqueria that will serve the "true Mexican taco."
According to NBC7, the menu will feature tacos al pastor as well as tongue, tripe, chorizo, suadero, campechano, and quesadillas. Refreshing agua frescas will also be available.
NBC7 reports that the upcoming Chula Vista location is an obvious expansion for the brothers because of its proximity to the Southern Border. Canelo also splits his time between Guadalajara, Mexico, and San Diego.
An official release date for El Pastor Del Rica has yet to be announced.
