For Disney fans who want to fully immersive themselves, a new Palm Springs-area community designed by Walt Disney Imagineering will be a dream come true. According to the Orange County Register, the team behind Disney theme parks will design a new master-planned housing community called "Cotino" in Rancho Mirage just outside Palm Springs.

The community was announced as a "creative oasis" for die-hard Disney fans looking for "new ways to make Disney a bigger part of their lives." The new neighborhood surrounds a 24-acre lake and will feature estates, single-family homes, and condominiums. They will also have a senior section for residents 55 and older.

According to the Desert Sun, the 618-acre property will have a total of 1,700 homes and 400 hotel rooms. Grading work is expected to begin in the next few weeks.

“Disney Imagineers are exploring the richness of each local region to inspire the theme of Storyliving by Disney communities,” said Michael Hundgen, executive producer, Walt Disney Imagineering. “Distinctively designed indoor and outdoor spaces will offer residents new opportunities to explore, engage and create the next incredible chapter of their story.”

According to the OCR, the Cotino community association, waterfront club, and private beach will be operated by Disney cast members. The dues-paying private membership club will also offer Disney entertainment, live performances, seminars, cooking classes, and wellness programming.
