A fruit from Israel is proving to be berry special.......(I'll show myself out).
But, this really is an unusual fruit!
A strawberry from Chahi Ariel's family farm near Netanya, Israel has been named the world's heaviest on record!
Guinness World Records gave the title to the10.19 ounce strawberry, which for those curious comes out to over half a pound.
Ariel says he actually had picked the fruit in 2021 but had to wait for confirmation from Guinness.
“We waited for a year for the results...We kept it in the freezer for a year. It’s no longer as pretty as it was.”
The previous record holder for heaviest strawberry was held by a Japanese fruit that weight 8.8 ounces.
