Super Bowl Champion Eric Weddle Will Be Head Coach At Rancho Bernardo High

After coming out of retirement to help lead the Los Angeles Ram to a Super Bowl victory, Eric Weddle is on to his next endeavor: coaching football at Rancho Bernardo High School.
Weddle will be the head football coach at Rancho Bernando High in San Diego following the 2022 season. The school announced the news on its Facebook page.
"Eric will be joining the Bronco family this season to learn the BLUE in, BLUE out culture," read the post. "Coach (Tristan) McCoy plans to remain on staff and support Coach Weddle in the upcoming years. LET'S BE GREAT!!"

According to NBC San Diego, McCoy and Weddle were hanging out in December when the topic of high school football came up.
"I asked him, 'Do you ever see yourself running a high school program?' Because he was saying. 'I loved it, this is what I want to do, this just makes me happy.' So, I asked him that question and he said, 'Man, it would be a dream to have my own program, especially when my son comes through.' So, I’m thinking to myself … well, we should talk."
McCoy will still be the head coach in 2022 with Weddle joining as an assistant. After this year, they'll switch roles, with McCoy helping out wherever he's needed.
