Immersive Super Nintendo World Opens At Universal Studios Hollywood In 2023

Universal Studios Hollywood has announced an opening date for Super Nintendo World. The new highly interactive world will be open to Nintendo fans in 2023, according to Deadline.

This will be the first Super Nintendo World in the United States. Universal Studios' first Super Nintendo World opened at their Japan park in 2021. The immersive land has been described as "a visual spectacle of vibrant colors and architectural ingenuity located within a newly-expanded area of the theme park, featuring a groundbreaking ride and interactive areas.”

Deadline reports the world will place guests inside the Mario universe. There will be spinning gold coins, question-mark blocks, and mushrooms that guests can interact with through a Power-Up Band.

To prepare for the opening, Universal Studios Hollywood will unveil a takeover of its Feature Presentation retail store with Super Nintendo World theming. According to Deadline, the store will feature Mario and Luigi-themed apparel, including their iconic character hats. Plush characters of Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and others will also be available for purchase in a variety of sizes.

The land is currently under construction in the lower section of the park, near the Transformers ride.
