These San Diego Cities Made The '50 Safest Cities In California' List

Some of the safest cities in all of California are in the San Diego area, according to a new report from Safewise. The security review website released its ranking of the 50 Safest Cities in California for 2022 and four local cities made it to the top 30.

To determine the safest cities, SafeWise looked at FBI crime statistics for each city. A total of 230 cities met the criteria to be considered for the ranking. According to their findings, Danville in Northern California is the safest city in California, followed by Rancho Santa Margarita in Orange County and Moorpark in Venture County.

• No. 28: Encinitas
• No. 54: Carlsbad
• No. 57: Chula Vista
• No. 59: Vista
• No. 87: La Mesa
• No. 99: San Diego
• No. 110: Escondido
• No. 123: Oceanside
• No. 143: El Cajon
• No. 170: National City
