An Amazon truck flipped over on a rain-slicked San Diego freeway early Sunday morning (March 20). According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), the truck was jackknifed and overturned in southbound lanes of Interstate 805 near Governor Drive at about 1:00 A.M.

According to NBC7 and a video they posted, the crash forced the Amazon truck's back door to open and launched packages across the freeway while rain poured. CHP said the truck also caught on fire.

NBC7 reports that the driver was able to get out of the vehicle before officers arrived. CHP had to close down four lanes as they worked to clear the crash and prompted a SigAlert that remained through the morning. CalTrans said all lanes weren't reopened until 3:00 P.M.

It was not immediately clear if rain was a factor in the crash or what caused the driver to lose control of the truck, according to NBC7.
