Zahn Defeated Handily In Kenner Mayor Re-Election Bid

Outgoing Kenner Police Chief Michael Glaser is the city's new mayor-elect after soundly defeating incumbent Ben Zahn in Saturday's election.

Glaser won more than 75% of the vote to Zahn's less than 25%.

The result was a sharp turnaround for Zahn, who had won two previous elections with at least 72% support.

Zahn's downfall resulted from recent media probes discovering evidence of payroll irregularities involving certain high-ranking city employees following Hurricane Ida last August.
