This news is enough to alarm pet parents everywhere, as a place of comfort and refuge for animals quickly became a construction site early this morning.
According to FOX5, a car crashed into a Dunwoody animal hospital on Peeler Road in DeKalb County and the driver had to be taken to a hospital for sustained injuries.
The Winters Chapel Animal Hospital, has been a trusted Atlanta institution since the 1980's. They not only perform surgeries and exams, but will also take the time to groom their patients. It is a one stop shop for all things animal care and will continue as such once it is repaired.
Dr. John Duncan, the owner of the hospital, told FOX5 that none of the animals were harmed in the crash because they were all being housed on the opposite side of the building.
The 46-year-old man who was driving the car drove off of the road and hit a tree. He then proceeded to crash into the wall of the animal hospital. He was the only one in the car and is currently in critical condition. It remains a mystery as to whether or not this crash was incidental.
The Winters Chapel Animal Hospital is closed for repairs while police investigate the cause of the crash.
