A Perfect Circle mastermind Billy Howerdel will released his debut solo album, What Normal Was, on June 10.
Howerdel announced the album and delivered its debut single "Poison Flowers" this week in one fell swoop.
"This is me stepping back into my early teen self and making the record I would've made if I had the means and the knowledge when I first picked up a guitar — just in 2022," Howerdel said in a statement. "It's that moment as a kid when you hear a record, close your eyes, and go somewhere else. That was the time I found my lane, so to speak."
"Poison Flowers" has all the seething mercurial drama you might expect from the man behind A Perfect Circle and Ashes Divide. You can watch it via the player above!
And while Howerdel hasn't been on tour in years, he plans to change that with his first-ever solo tour launching June 11. While most of the tour consists of headlining gigs, Howerdel will support his longtime APC collaborator Maynard James Keenan's band Puscifer at a number of stops along the way.
