Oak Bluffs Votes In Favor Of Hiring Edgartown Police Chief

The Town of Oak Bluffs is poaching from another Vineyard police department for its next Police Chief. 

The O.B. Select Board voted 3-1 on Monday to offer the job to Edgartown Police Sergeant Jonathan Searle. 

Searle tells the Vineyard Gazette he intends to accept the position. 

Longtime Oak Bluffs Police Chief Erik Blake is planning to retire this summer, while he has also announced a run for Dukes County Sheriff.
