Gas Station Manager Fired for Setting Price at 69 Cents Per Gallon

A manager of a Northern California gas station says that he was fired from his job after accidentally setting the price for gas to 69 cents per gallon...

The pump price sat at 69 cents for three hours, causing the Shell station to lose a reported $16 thousand!

The former manager told local news that he accidentally misplaced a decimal when trying to set the price of premium gas at $6.99.

"I put all three prices on there, except the diesel. The last one kind of didn't go. So, I just took responsibility for it and said yeah it's my fault," said gas station manager John Szczecina.

According to one customer, “I started looking around … and everybody had a big smile and they kinda were not looking at you in your eyes."
