Mattress Mack launches effort to help the victims of flooding in Kentucky

The death toll in Kentucky from the recent flooding is now up to 37. And our own Mattress Mack is stepping up to help the victims.

The first wave of Gallery Furniture's relief effort will be in the form of soliciting volunteers to do heavy, non-stop manual labor that will include helping to cut up trees, clear paths for vehicles to get through, mucking out homes and more.

"They need help down there," Mack told Jimmy Barrett and Shara Fryer on Houston's Morning News. "It's a terrible situation. They helped us during Harvey, so we are going to help them now.,"

Mack is also soliciting donations to be used to help fund the relief effort. You can also bring a check, cash or gift cards directly to Mattress Mack at 6006 North Freeway Gallery Furniture or donate through the GoFundMe link on www.galleryfurniture.com.

And, with school starting in a few weeks, Mack is also helping kids who need school supplies. You can bring newly purchased backpacks and school supplies at the Gallery Furniture North Freeway location between now and September first.
