Tanya Tucker is the latest legendary country artist to praise Chapel Hart, the beloved country trio that has captivated America’s Got Talent audiences and viewers ever since their must-see golden buzzer moment.
Chapel Hart — made up of sisters and cousins Danica Hart, Trea Swindle and Devynn Hart — rocked an original song, “The Girls Are Back In Town,” during the smash-hit NBC competition series this week. The performance earned Chapel Hart a spot in the finals, and earned a special shout-out from Tucker, who donned a holiday “getup” as she filmed a Christmas movie in the recorded message to the band.
“Hey, Chapel Hart… I saw you on America’s Got Talent, and wow, you were fantastic. I love, love your thing. You’ve got a great vibe. It’s so different. So, good luck to you,” Tucker said, blowing a kiss into the camera. She reiterated in her caption on her social media channels: “Hey [Chapel Hart]! I’m shooting a Christmas movie right now… I saw you on [America’s Got Talent] and wow!!! You all were fantastic! Lovvved it! ❤️❤️❤️”
Of course, Chapel Hart beamed with excitement to hear from Tucker. They gushed, retweeting the country music legend: “Y’all, We. Are. Screaming!!!!! We can’t believe the Original Bad Girl of Country herself [Tanya Tucker] loved the performance! Sometimes you gotta show the world your rowdy side!!”
Chapel Hart earned a Golden Buzzer from all four celebrity judges — Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sophia Vergara — and host Terry Crews when they performed their original, modern twist on Dolly Parton’s iconic 1970s song, “Jolene.” The song “You Can Have Him, Jolene” updates the storyline, refusing to fight for the same man.
The audition caught Parton’s attention. She wrote on Twitter with a winking emoji: “What a fun new take on my song, [Chapel Hart]! Carl's birthday is today so I think I'll hang on to him, and I'm not notifying Jolene that today is his birthday #AGT”
Soon after, Loretta Lynn praised the country trio. Sharing a clip of the golden buzzer performance on Facebook, Lynn applauded: “I love it, ladies. Now I'm wondering what you might be able to do with one of my songs!”
Chapel Hart is headed for the finals, following their performance this week. They excitedly shared on Instagram on Wednesday night (August 17): “WE’LL SEE YALL AT THE FINALS 🥳🥳🥳🥳 We want to take a moment and thank each and every single one of you for taking the time to vote for us! We understand and recognize that none of this would be possible without God and all of the amazing folks who support us. We are forever grateful for y’all ❤️ WE NEED YALL ONE MORE TIME …. When it’s time to vote for finals we need y’all on it 😃🥳 Also we want to send a shoutout to all of the incredible acts in week 2 we love y’all and we are locked in forever ❤️ THANK YALL AGAIN FOR THE VOTES, LOVE, AND SUPPORT!!!"
