Wynonna Judd clarified rumors that she was feuding with her sister, Ashley Judd, over their late mother’s estate. Wynonna spoke with PEOPLE for the magazine’s cover story, where she said there’s no feud going on between the two sisters.
"Someone told me while I was at Ashley's house, 'Hey, did you know that they're saying this about you?' I went, 'Huh? I'm fighting with Ashley? Oh. Again?'" Wynonna said in her interview. "Fighting over what? I have such a great life. Ashley has a great life. Why would we be fighting over the will?”
Wynonna and Ashley announced in a heartbreaking statement earlier this year that they “lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness.” Naomi Judd, beloved country artist and one-half of the iconic mother-daughter duo The Judds with Wynonna, was 76.
The will reportedly named Naomi’s husband of more than three decades, Larry Strickland, the executor of her estate. Wynonna said, per PEOPLE, that she and Ashley will “split” the estate when Strickland dies, and she does not plan to contest her mother’s will: “It never occurred to me.” Instead, Wynonna says she and Ashley have remained close through their grief. Wynonna recently began touring, on what was supposed to be The Judds’ “The Final Tour” with her mother. She admitted in a recent CBS Sunday Morning interview that she has “no idea” what to expect without Naomi, though it was important to her to continue the tour in her mother's honor. Wynonna will take the stage with the intention of “singing to help someone feel better. That’s always in my spirit.”
