Travis Tritt announced on Tuesday (November 1) that he would have to cancel his tour dates this month, including remaining shows on the “Can’t Miss Tour” with Chris Janson and War Hippies. The “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive” artist shared a heartfelt message on his social media channels, explaining that “severe pain” in his knee would prevent him from performing this month:
“I have been experiencing severe pain in my left knee for the past few weeks due to a possible torn meniscus. With short bits of rest between shows, I had hoped that the pain would eventually subside and I could complete all of my remaining dates in November, including all the dates on the current ‘Can’t Miss Tour’ with Chris Janson and War Hippies.
“Unfortunately, the pain has become impossible to ignore and I will not be able to do any further shows in November. Refunds for these shows will be available at point of ticket purchase. I appreciate everyone’s understanding and I hope to return to the road as soon as possible.”
The Georgia-born country singer-songwriter, 59, advised fans to visit his website for more information or any other changes to the schedule. The upcoming performance dates that Tritt announced would be canceled include:
- 11/3 Greensboro, NC
- 11/4 Florence, SC
- 11/5 Richmond, VA
- 11/11 Tupelo, MS
- 11/12 Choctaw, MS
- 11/18 Pensacola, FL
- 11/19 Atlanta, GA
Tritt’s tour mates, Janson and War Hippies, left supportive messages in the comments as the country icon takes time to focus on his health. Janson wrote, “Get better soon Travis. Wishing ya the best,” and War Hippies shared, “Praying for your speedy recovery my friend! 🙏.”
“Unfortunately I’ve tried every way to still come play the shows for ya’ll but it’s unable to happen! I’m sad & devastated,” Janson added in a tweet, pledging to return to those cities as soon as possible. “Hoping to get back to the markets soon we are working to find dates. I’m sorry - Refunds are available at point of purchase immediately.”
