Drivers making their way through El Paso saw an interesting sight this week as several SAT answer sheets were blowing in the wind across Mesa Street.

El Paso ISD told to KFOX14 that the SAT answer sheets of El Paso High School students were "securely submitted to UPS." However, they were then deemed "lost in transit."

The exams in question were from the October 27 testing date on campus. The school district was able to recover "all but 55" answer documents. It's still unclear what the school district and College Board plan to do for the students whose tests were "lost," but counselors are suggesting affected students take the ACT. They're being offered free waivers to do so for the December 10 test date at El Paso High School. The deadline to register is November 4.

Videos of the SAT exams floating through Mesa Street made the rounds on social media after the incident. "What. The. Hell. El Paso High School seniors may have to retake their SATs after a @ups truck accidentally dumped their test sheets on Mesa," El Paso-based Instagram account @therealfitfamelpaso said on Instagram with videos of the tests on the street. Users in the comments were completely appalled at the situation.

"Give all the kids passing grades for this huge mistake that they all studied hours, days, and weeks for," one user said.

"Though I've never had to take the SAT more than once, the thought of having to re-take it because of some Murphy law s--- like this would make me rather die," another user said.
