A TikTok influencer will pay a $285 fine for hitting a golf ball into the Grand Canyon.
- In October, TikToker Katie Sigmond posted a video where she hits a golf ball at Mather Point - and sends her club flying into the Canyon as well.
- Sigmond was charged with two misdemeanors for the stunt, which were federal charges because it took place at a national park.
- She settled out of court last month for a $285 fine.
- Authorities warn that tossing or hitting objects into the Grand Canyon is illegal and can pose a threat to hikers or wildlife.
Court documents show Katie Sigmond faced one count each of disorderly conduct creating a hazardous condition, and tossing or throwing items into the canyon.https://t.co/gRR26dYNqp
