Runaway June dropped a hint that the dawn of a new era would be “coming soon,” seemingly alluding that fans should keep an eye out for more announcements from the beloved country trio.
The “Buy My Own Drinks” group — made up of Jennifer Wayne, Natalie Stovall and Stevie Woodward — shared a 15-second clip on their social media channels. Set to Beyoncé’s smash-hit anthem “Run the World (Girls),” the short video captures a few backstage, behind-the-scenes moments with the band. They hinted in their caption: “New chapter… coming soon!”
Runaway June recently marked a new era when Woodward joined the group last year, following former lead singer Naomi Cooke Johnson’s announcement that she would leave Runaway June to pursue solo projects. Cooke Johnson helped launch the group in 2015. Another member, Hannah Mulholland, left in 2020, and Stovall was added to the band.
Since Woodward became an official bandmate, Runaway June released some new music, including the holiday single “Cowboy for Christmas” and the post-breakup track, “Broken Hearts (Do Broken Things).” The trio previously said the song aims to capture, “that feeling of getting your heart broken and going out and doing some questionable things.”
