Jelly Roll is chronicling “growth and gratitude” in his forthcoming album, Whitsitt Chapel, which is set to release in June. The three-time 2023 CMT Music Awards nominee revealed new details about his album on Thursday morning (March 16).

Whitsitt Chapel is named after the church that Jelly Roll attended while growing up, per a press release announcing the project on Thursday. Jelly Roll’s current single, “Need A Favor,” is one of 13 tracks that’s set to appear on his debut full-length country album.

“This album is about growth and gratitude happening in my life,” Jelly Roll said in a statement. “I wanted to create a project that felt hopeful. I believe the worst feeling a person can have is feeling hopeless or worthless. This is therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems.”

The announcement of Whitsitt Chapel’s release date comes after Jelly Roll posted teasers on his social media channels, seemingly revealing lyrics of unreleased tracks. Jelly Roll, previously dubbed an iHeartRadio On The Verge Artist, announced a star-studded lineup for his “Backroad Baptism Tour,” set to kick off in late July after Whitsitt Chapel’s release.
