NCAA Women's Tournament Viewership Climbs 27 Percent

An average of 272,000 people tuned in to watch the first round of the NCAA Women's Tournament over the weekend, ESPN has announced.
- That figure means viewership for the college tourney is up 27 percent from last year. It also means the total consumed viewing time for the first round comes out to 875 million, the most in NCAA history, per ESPN.
- Leading the pack was Tennessee's win over Saint Louis, which attracted 639,000 viewers, the sports network reports. UConn's victory over Vermont was a close second with 636,000 viewers, figures reveal.
The Hawkeyes showed up to the First and Second Rounds in dominant fashion and secured the dub over Southeastern Louisiana and Georgia to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
