Brantley Gilbert Showcases Signature 'Outside Of The Box' Style

Brantley Gilbert’s deluxe album has arrived.

The country star unleashed his long-awaited extended version of his latest album, So Help Me God, on Friday (April 21). Gilbert added five new tracks to his original 10-track album, including: “Wrote The Book Around Here,” “Tailgates Of Heaven,” “Bury Me Upside Down,” “All Over The Map,” and “Behind The Times.” Gilbert announced the project earlier this year.

“We’ve always been a little outside of the box when it comes to writing and recording,” Gilbert said when he announced So Help Me God (Deluxe Edition), per his record label. “It’s not necessarily something we’ve done on purpose, but it tends to happen because we always try to serve the song as it takes shape rather than shaping the song to serve us. If a song is asking for a harder edge, let’s do that. If it feels a little more introspective, let’s lean into that. This album intersects across a lot of different genres, and we’re proud to say that it’s something that happened naturally.”

Gilbert, who is gearing up to tour with Nickelback this year, perviously released “Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton and Vince Gill, “Son Of The Dirty South” featuring Jelly Roll, and other highlights on the original So Help Me God album. Gilbert previously said that the 10-track collection is “a mixtape of great songs,” that blend well together while covering “a wide variety of genre influences. There’s a lot of different songwriting styles on the album. We’re super excited about it, and I can’t wait for BG Nation to hear what we’ve been working on.”
