Tim McGraw shared an unforgettable moment with legendary country star Randy Travis, including McGraw’s a cappella rendition of Travis’ mid-1980s classic, “On The Other Hand.”

McGraw posted a photo on Instagram as he reflected on “catching up with my friend, the legend [Randy Travis] backstage at [CMA Fest],” he wrote in his caption, deeming Travis “one of the greatest!!” McGraw performed on the final night of the four-day annual music festival, taking the stage at Nissan Stadium in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The Country Music Association marked 50 years of the festival, perviously known as Fan Fair, from June 8-11. CMA Fest will air as a three-hour special — hosted by Dierks Bentley, Elle King and Lainey Wilson — on ABC on Wednesday, July 19 at 8 p.m./7 p.m. CT.

“I can’t tell you how much it meant to see [Tim McGraw] and Faith (Hill) last night at [CMA] Fest!” Travis’ caption read as he shared a brief clip of McGraw’s serenade on TikTok, throwing back to Travis’ track from his 1986 album, Storms of Life. “We don’t get to see each other often enough — they are lights! And we loved meeting their nephew Timothy!
