Walker Hayes played an acoustic rendition of an adorable song he wrote about taking his daughter to a Taylor Swift concert as she celebrated her 9th birthday. The “Fancy Like” hitmaker said it’s “Lolly’s new favorite song” as he shared the “true story” on Instagram.

Hayes posted the heartfelt ballad with his daughter after taking her to see Swift, her hero, on the ongoing “Eras Tour.” He sang, in part: “Well, two Taylor Swift concert ticket stubs/ Cost me more than my mortgage does/ That was before T-shirts, Cokes and popcorn/ But hey, I mean, how many times/ Does your little girl turn 9?/ Dave Ramsey wouldn’t like it, but it was priceless/ Watching her watch her hero/ Singing every single word to every song in the nosebleeds…”

He goes on to sing in the chorus that he hopes his young daughter, a “real life princess,” “always knows that me, her mom and Jesus love her even more than she loves Taylor Swift.”

Hayes and his wife, Laney Hayes, are raising six children together (three daughters and three sons): LelaEverlyLoxleyChapelBaylor and Beckett. The couple’s seventh child, daughter Oakleigh Klover, died when she was born, and the family recently paid tribute to her as they marked five years without her. That tribute came shortly before Hayes and his wife celebrated 19 years of marriage. They tied the knot on June 12, 2004. Now, Hayes often brings his wife and kids on tour with him, and shares sweet moments that the family shares singing and dancing together on his social media channels.
