How Shania Twain Will Mark The 25th Anniversary Of History-Making Moment

Shania Twain is paying tribute to one of the most iconic albums of her decades-long career with the release of a special edition. The international megastar, currently on her global “Queen Of Me Tour” in support of her latest full-length project, announced during her recent show in New York City that Come On Over would be re-released to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

TODAY anchor Hoda Kotb joined Twain on stage at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night (July 11), singing “You’re Still The One” with Twain. Kotb also and surprised her with a double platinum record of Come On Over, PEOPLE noted in a report on Wednesday morning (July 12). The history-making record made its debut in 1997. 

“It’s incredible what has happened with this album, and that all of you are still here after all these years supporting me,” Twain said on stage with Kotb. “So, this moment with all of us right now marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Come On Over. …I’m actually announcing the re-issue of this album right now.

“It’s really amazing how music can go this whole cycle and live through generations, so — and that’s, of course, all because of and thanks to you,” Twain said as she addressed the cheering audience.

Come On Over’s track list includes some of the most iconic hits of Twain’s career, including “Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You),” “From This Moment On,” :Come ON Over,” “You’re Still The One,” “Honey, I’m Home,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” and “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!”

“With Come On Over, it was important for me to give what I thought was the best record of my life - no holding back!” Twain wrote in an Instagram caption on Wednesday. “Especially as a follow-up to the certified Diamond ‘The Woman In Me’. I knew I had more in me than one Diamond album 😉”

Come On Over: Diamond Edition will release on August 25.
