Juicy J's attempt to rock his Hannibal Lector outfit during his appearance on "GMA" was shut down before he hit the stage.
According to a report TMZ published on Tuesday, September 5, the Three 6 Mafia rapper was set to perform on "Good Morning America" in a white straitjacket and a restraint mask in order to promote his new book "Chronicles of the Juice Man" by him and co-author Soren Baker. Juicy J even posted a photo of him in full gear before his appearance. However, someone either at the show or from the network decided that the outfit wasn't appropriate and instructed the Memphis native to change.
"'Good Morning America'.. they didn't want me to wear the jacket," Juicy J explained to TMZ. "But it's all good. It wasn't no problem. I wasn't trippin. That's why I brought another oufit."
"I'm a mental health advocate," he continued. "I wear that straitjacket to let people know about mental health awareness. You don't have to do nothing crazy. Get some help. Call 988. Call your mom, call somebody just don't hurt yourself."
Juicy J has been speaking out about mental health and substance abuse for quite some time. His recent project Mental Trillness, which dropped back in March, includes songs like "Going Through Sum Sh.." and "Mental Health Crisis" as well as a posthumous collaboration with the late Gangsta Boo.
