Tyler Hubbard is longing for the days when everything was just a little bit simpler in his nostalgic new single "Back Then Right Now."

Hubbard dropped his latest single on Friday (September 8), a catchy anthem that harkens back to the days where life was easier and "where we didn't worry about what we didn't know." The song opens with Hubbard remembering life's simplicities from when he was younger, like when a blacktop was a gravel road or "when you took a pic and didn't have to post it."

"I could use some back then right now, '98 Chevy with the tailgate down, FM only with the gold up loud burnin' up the night, innocent and wild," he sings in the chours. "I could use a little more wide open, back when all I wanted was the hand I was holdin', livin' in the moment with a good time crowd, makin' life count, damn I could use a little more back then right now."

On Friday, the "5 Foot 9" musician heralded the track's release on Instagram and teased even more new music, calling the song one of his favorite new songs he's been working on.

"These past few months I've been writing a ton of songs and working in the studio. I'm super excited to share all the new music I've been workin on but this song is one of my favorites."

"'Back Then Right Now' is all about livin in the moment and makin memories," he said ahead of the song's release, adding to his fans, "Thanks for jammin with me on the road this summer and for singin along."
