Zach Bryan has spoken out following his arrest Thursday (September 7) night in his home state of Oklahoma.
According to online records obtained from the Craig County Sheriff's Office, the "Something in the Orange" singer was arrested and booked on an obstruction of investigation charge shortly after 6:30 p.m. local time, per Page Six. Hours later, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to express that he was "out of line" and apologizing to the officers involved.
"Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line in the things I said. I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize. They brought me to jail, and there is a mug shot of me floating around. Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I'm just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers."

He followed up his statement with a video of his account of the arrest, explaining that his troubles with law enforcement began days earlier when he was pulled over in a small town for driving just above the speed limit. When the officer asked for his license, registration and his address, Bryan refused to say where he lived as he didn't feel comfortable giving out that information given his fame. Though the officer threatened to arrest Bryan, he continued to refuse and was placed in handcuffs. Eventually, Bryan gave in and told the officer his address and he was released and giving a warning.
On Thursday, he and his security guard were driving separately on their way to Boston when his bodyguard was pulled over in Vinita. When Bryan noticed, he circled back and parked behind them. However, after waiting about 15 minutes, he grew impatient and got out of his car to see why the interaction was taking so long.
When the officer told Bryan to get back in his car, he ignored the direction and was placed in handcuffs and later arrested after he said he kept getting angry, "which is the worst thing you could possibly do," and "mouthing off like an idiot, like an actual child" to the officer. He was booked into the county jail and later released.
In both of his statements, Bryan took responsibility for the incident, explaining in his video, "I was just an idiot. I'll take the fall for it. I'm a grown man. I shouldn't have behaved like that and it won't happen again."
