Carrie Underwood Sips 'Dangerous' Tequila Cocktail, Serves As Recipe Taster

Carrie Underwood took a sip of a “dangerous” cocktail when she served as a recipe taster for her longtime friend Ivey Childers, the co-founder and CEO of newly-announced Southbound Tequila. Underwood joined Childers for the premiere episode of Garden to Glass, a new YouTube series that features “friendship, stories, and shaking up cocktails” using the new tequila with “ingredients straight from the garden.”
“I don’t taste tequila,” Underwood said as she took a sip from the cocktail — “this one is all about the Blackberries and Blanco” — in a teaser she shared on Instagram on Tuesday (September 12). “That’s dangerous.”
Underwood and Childers teamed up in the kitchen to make the blackberry beverage, and shared some memories of the first time the duo spent time in nature together, growing up picking berries and other fruits, gardening, memories from the first day they picked blackberries together (the same day Underwood learned she was pregnant with her firstborn son, Isaiah, now 8) and more. Childers also shared details about Southbound’s tequila that she and Underwood used during the Garden to Glass conversation.
Underwood said that when it comes to a beverage recipe, she opts to “keep things very simple.” She shared similar sentiments — and appreciation for gardening — in the lifestyle book she released in 2020, Find Your Path: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul,And Get Strong With The Fit52 Life. The “Denim & Rhinestones” superstar shared her passion for health and fitness, and followed it with the fit52 fitness app for full-body workouts at home.

- 1oz Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz Cointreau
- 2 Handfuls (32) Mint Leaves
